Name Drop
Stop Name Dropping and Start Name Lifting
In our society, name dropping is everywhere. We do it for benefit—to gain access or authority that we don’t feel we have on our own. Whether it's radical fans associating with a solo artist or kids in the 90s trying to act cool by mentioning Snoop Dogg at the lunch table, we often use names to bolster our own identity.
But when it comes to Jesus, everything changes. You don’t "drop" the name of Jesus; you lift it.
From Orphans to Heirs
The baseline of our faith is understanding that we have been adopted. Through Jesus’ sacrifice, we are no longer bound to a spirit of fear or an "orphan spirit". We are now sons and daughters who can cry out "Abba, Father". This adoption means you don't have to work for notoriety or significance anymore; your value is already established in your new name.
Authority Over "Spaghetti Prayers"
Many of us live life on the defense, throwing aimless prayers like spaghetti against a wall, just hoping something sticks. But because we are in the family, we have access and authority.
Knowing the Source
The book of Acts tells a cautionary tale of the "Sons of Sceva," who tried to use the name of Jesus as a formulaic equation without actually knowing Him. The result? They were beaten by the very spirits they tried to cast out. To walk in true power, you must know the Source, not just know about the story.
Moving from Defense to Offense
Are you tired of being "kicked around" by life?. Too many Christians are self-absorbed in their own struggles, which darkens their witness to the world. Today is the day to stand on the balls of your feet, stop making excuses for sin cycles, and lift the name of Jesus for the benefit of a lost and dying world

- We pray in His name: No more unaffected, echoey prayers.
- We speak His name: Just as demons trembled when Jesus spoke, we have the authority to speak life and declare the name of Jesus over medical diagnoses, family struggles, and fear.
