  • Evangelism! Saved people, serve people! It is our mission to connect people to the heart of God and the house of God. In this house, evangelism is not exclusive to extroverts or people with a specific ministry title, but is a basic, personal responsibility for every believer. It’s for the people in THE world and OUR world- our homes, our work places, our schools.

Sermon Series: Take Me to Church
Message Title: “With Respect”, Pastor Matt Erikson

Key Scriptures: Acts 2: 34-37, Hebrews 10:24-25, John 13:34-35

Brief Recap: St Cyprian of Carthage said it well - “He cannot have God for his Father who has not the Church for his mother.” One of the ways God is teaching us to love His Church is by learning to respect His Church! Respect happens through devotion - as we become devoted to God’s Church, we will come to respect her.

Message Notes:
Who is She? 
  1. She (The Church)  is God’s plan to reveal the hope of Jesus Christ to the world.
  2. She (The Church) teaches and molds me according to the revelation of Jesus Christ, bringing the transformation of heaven to my life.
  3. She (The Church) is the one who teaches the true nature and love of Christ. 

Devoted:
  • To a person 
  • To a cause 
  • To a purpose 

3 Ways We Can Check Our Devotion:
  1. Time- we make time for what we love and what we respect. 
  2. Talent- this is a place of passion, not earning money. This isn’t just serving, it’s sowing. We come to church early, eager, and expectant.  
  3. Treasure- Tithing is about our hearts, not our money. We need to stop allowing the enemy to steal from us. 

Discussion

  2. Have you been demanding a respect for the church that you have not been offering to the Church? Based on your time, talent, and treasure.
